PLAN YOUR TRIP
Island Dreamer tours are so different from other tours in the area. Not only are you on a beautiful boat with all the comforts of home (instead of an inflatable whale-watching boat without a bathroom or a metal boat that lacks comfort), but your trip is totally customized (assuming what you ask for is safe!).
Whether you want an afternoon cruise that drops anchor under a waterfall for happy hour or you want to be looking for wild life (never a guarantee as to what you’ll see) while immersed in the mountainous inlets, Captain Ken will share his recommendations and show you nautical charts of popular routes.
Desolation Sound, just a short cruise from Campbell River, is famous for its scenery. It’s the beginning of the amazing scenery encountered by cruise ship passengers as they voyage north and intersect the Inside Passage.
Other than the day tour (four-hour minimum), a popular option is the two or three-night cruise so you have ample time at a comfortable cruising speed (averaging 9 knots) to get far enough north to see the waters of Toba Inlet or Telegraph Cove (adjacent to the Broughton Archipelago).
It’s your cruise, so you work with Captain Ken to plan every kilometer.
Just bring your camera, warm clothes (since it’s always cool on the water, especially at night), rubber-soled shoes, a cooler and tote with the food and drinks you want (unless you opt for an Island Dreamer meal package), and a desire to relax!
It will be Captain Ken’s pleasure to “take you away” –to take you to a place where you won’t have a care in the world, as you immerse yourself into the majestic beauty of the mountains and waters off Vancouver Island where orcas, eagles, sealions, and humpbacks are a treat for young and old.
Cruise tours pick up and return clients at a dock in Campbell River.
